Ma and Pa Meeting Success

The Ma and Pa Kick-off Meeting last night was well attended. Thank you Ma's and Pa's for your excitement and acceptance of this assignment!

Youth can look forward to receiving phone calls from their Ma's and Pa's soon! Look for new information on the Trek families as several updates were made with late registrations that were turned in last week.

Shiloh and Blue Creek Fundraiser Dinners

Shiloh Ward's Fundraiser dinner was a success! Sloppy Joes, entertainment from the youth with the "Cot Ni Joe," pioneer readings, and more. Good job Shiloh Ward!

Blue Creek Ward's Fundraiser Dinner was also a huge success! The youth were brewing yummy homemade spaghetti sauce in the kitchen and did a fabulous job! Way to go Blue Creek!

PEF- What does that stand for?

Approximately 85,000 converts came to Utah with the help of the Perpetual Emigration Fund (PEF). This fund was set up so that those who borrowed money from the fund would repay that amount once they had settled in Utah.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

We have a similar program today, designed after the Perpetual Emigration Fund; it is called the Perpetual Education Fund (also PEF: look on your tithing slips). It works in the same way, but instead of helping Saints migrate to Utah, it is intended to help Saints educate themselves to better the communities in which they already live.
